At Modular Day Barcelona Toyota Vangelis brought together a range of FM pads, FX textures, loops, pitch shifts and beats to create a futuristic electronic take on vocal led music. It’s hard to categorise as it’s pop leanings are countered with curveball harmonic choices, sparse arrangements, glitched beats and remakes of 1980s soviet era Czech songs. Kalimbas, Yamaha DX FM and modulated modular synth lines underpin the vocals as the set moves through different songs.

To quote Toyota Vangelis “Toyota Vangelis is a car from near future powered by nuclear fusion and also name of present day songwriter / inventor. Sounds of electricity sculpt songs about the planet, love and an uncertain future.”
