Here’s an amazing presentation, workshop and all round synth tutorial from Rob Hordijk that was held at Modular Meets Leeds 2017. Rob’s original plan was to show everyone how to add feel, life and swing into basic sequences but along the way we get a real lesson in synthesis with lots of tips. Included frequency ratios for modulation, ring mod, waveshaping CV sequences, mixing LFOs and offsets with wave shaped CV, looking at harmonics and brightness from the oscillator before the filter, the use of VCAs pre and post filter and VCAs for CV modulation, how to “fake” a delay with bipolar VCAs and lots more.
