Following an amazing performance the night before here we have Jason H. J. Lim on Instruo giving a live Instruōctional (Instruo, instructional, clever word play) workshop breaking down the performance patches and systems he’s put together to perform with. Jason breaks down the sampling, looping and approaches to mangling breakbeats, modular layout needs to create physically performable tonal and harmonic chord changes, cable play, granular scatters, playing with chance live and manipulating reverb throws and freezes. It’s packed with tips and tricks, many of which I’ll be trying out myself.
