Baseck closed out the live performances at Velocity (more on the event below) and brought a set that merges Eurorack, synths, drum machines and samplers. After around 7 minutes of atmospheres, abstract percussion and finger drumming, resonance squelchy synth lines build until the beat drops (around 9 mins in for those desperate for a quick hit) and this HIT HARD in the room. Kicks punching and snares snapping through the PA, it worked great in the room. The set evolves for just over an hour with sequences dancing alongside metallic reverbs and beats, rave and bass thundering through melodies and saturated hits.

Velocity was the first event large scale trade show, community and performance based from Modular Seattle and Patchwerks in (you guessed it!) Seattle, Washington on the Pacific Northwest of the USA. I worked with them as a media partner to create videos while in the USA (see DivKid’s West Coast Adventure – videos soon) sharing the event performances and workshops as well as making my own videos. There’s LOTS more to come.

Velocity was sponsored by the good people at Bjooks, KORG, 4ms Company, Mordax Systems, Roland and WMD. It’s thanks to the support and sponsorships of good companies and people that events like this can happen.
