Today Tangible Waves responsible for AE Modular format made a blog post talking about the strange and challenging times we find ourselves in but also to announce a two new DIY modules opening their format to be easy for people to experiment, build and play.
In the post Robert talks about how he loves building circuits in 0-5V ranges and that he wanted to make a system where anyone who knows a little bit of electronics can make their own modules easily.
Introducing … BRAEDBOARD (not a typo, I think it’s typed all over the post)
Robert talks about how not soldering things at the prototype stages and working with breadboards is key to swap things out and develop circuits quickly. On that note BRAEDBOARD is an AE Modular format breadboard that comes with common components to get you going and they’re aiming to build a more comprehensive list of both simple and more complex designs on a wiki in the future.
Introducing … DIY Module
The follow up module is then ‘DIY Module’ which once you’re happy with your breadboarded circuit you can then turn into a “proper” module. The DIY Module kit itself consists of a faceplate, pots, switches, LEDs, sockets and spacers with two blank PCBs that you can solder onto any circuit you want. Allowing you to go from breadboard to “proper” module.
Tangible Waves say both the BRAEDBOARD and DIY Module will be available on their online shop in the next few days, there’s no sign of pricing yet. More information at https://www.tangiblewaves.com
