Suit & Tie Guy from STG Soundlabs announced his Boat Rocker concept some time ago, so this isn’t exactly news for the home edition of Superbooth but it’s that time of year and new information is available. The Boat Rocker was conceived to add a reliable and solid power supply to the empty boats (common name for these types of cases) people find themselves with when they remove a Mother-32 or DFAM from the case they came in. The Boat Rocker is a drop in solution for turning the empty boat into a powered mini Eurorack case.
The good news for now is that the Boat Rocker will be shipping in approximately 2 weeks and will be available for $199. Keep up to date and grab one – http://stgsoundlabs.com/products/boat_rocker_m32.htm
For those that have missed the Boat Rocker announcements over the past few months – the Boat Rocker uses an including 15V external “brick” PSU (provided) to then provide the needed +12v, -12v and +5v rails into two groups of 5 connectors on a bustard that mounts in the case with over 1 amp of current available. The kit also includes mounting screws and extra square M3 sliding nuts to add to the rails of the original empty case.
It’s a nice way to make use of an empty case for those that have integrated the original devices into larger Eurorack set ups. I like the idea of a Boat Rocker controller system feeding out to a bigger rig. Or just an mini 60HP system to use standalone.
