As the end of the year rolls around we are looking back across 2024 and the “best” Eurorack modules of the year. But instead of a personal favourites list we wanted to look at this from multiple angles. Looking at the best performing DivKid videos, community voted favourites, sales data from best sellers around the world and Modular Grid’s most popular modules in virtual racks on the site.
There’s lots of information in the video so I’ll break out each list here too, it’s a lot of lists! Links on the module names go to DivKid demos of those modules.
TOP DIVKID VIDEOS OF 2024
These are of course only my own videos, not other channels with different audiences and even just on my own channel … I couldn’t cover everything, popular or not, through the year. There’s of course bias involved in viewership of channels and what does well on them. These results would be different for other people, even if we covered the exact same modules.

Without sales numbers one store’s number 1 might go nowhere near the top 10 of another and there’s a range of larger and smaller stores across a few countries here.

MODULAR GRID – MOST POPULAR
I would imagine most people here know (and love) modulargrid.net the virtual rack planning website that lets you play modular tetris with the modules you have (or want). Many an hour has wittled away to planning instruments, creating dream collections and layouts. With most users of Eurorack using Modular Grid I wanted to take a look at what has been popular on the site this year. With both new 2024 modules and all time favourites. For these lists there’s also the amount of virtual racks that module appears in, which isn’t sales of course but it does show a large user base planning real or dream systems with the modules.

An interesting point was made by the team at Modular Grid when they sent on the information which was … “You can see that the older modules are still very relevant. The top #1 2024 module Make Noise DXG would just come in at number 78 in the all times fav list.” Older modules of course have had many years (in some cases) to become popular, or simply have more widespread use over time. So with that in mind here’s the ‘all time favourites’ too.
